Century Plant
The Century Plant (Agave utahensis) is more like a quarter
century plant. Once it is between 15 and 25 years old, it
sends up a dramatic shoot, one that can grow several feet in
just a matter of weeks. After its shoot blooms, it dies.
This plant was found growing on the south rim of the
Grand Canyon. |
