A cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis), also known as a buff-backed heron,  searches for food on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Cattle egret were introduced to Hawaii in 1959 and compete with native wetland birds for food. Cattle egret are so named because they're known for following cattle and farm equipment to feast on injured bugs.
