Hawaii (traditionally spelled Hawai`i) is largest of the
Hawaiian islands and is frequently called "The Big Island."
Like all Hawaiian islands, it's the product of volcanic
activity. Hawaii is the youngest of the islands, as
evidenced by its active lava flows, rugged terrain and black
sand beaches.
