Devils Tower at Sunrise, Wyoming

Devils Tower at Sunrise, Wyoming

Devils Tower, a Wyoming monolith that stretches 1,267 feet above the river below, is reddened by the rising sun. About 60 million years ago, molten magma forced its way into the ground. Since then, the ground around the Devils Tower has eroded away. Devils Tower was the first U.S. National Monument.
