The Garry Oak (Quercus garryana), the only oak tree native to British Columbia, is not found anywhere else in Canada. More commonly found in Georgia, these trees do well in the dry, savanna-like ecosystem of southern Vancouver Island. These trees were found in Beacon Hill Park in Victoria, B.C.
