Swirled Leaves, Poisonous Corn Lily
The leaves of the poisonous corn lily, also known as a false hellebore (Veratrum californicum), twist into a tight swirl pattern. The plant, which is highly toxic, is commonly found in forested areas of the mountains of Western North America.
