Fall Color: Bismark Mountain

Fall Color: Bismark Mountain

Not normally thought of as a prime location to view fall color, Bismark Mountain, a few miles from the Mount St. Helens crater, is awash in vibrant colors just 25 years after the 1980 eruption. Some trees, killed instantly by hot gases, remain standing, while others, toppled by the blast are still visible. (More Mount St. Helens images.)
