God Beams Over Cathedral Rock, Arizona

God Beams Over Cathedral Rock, Sedona, Arizona

Bright shafts of light seem to originate from the peaks of Cathedral Rock, in Sedona, Arizona. The beams, known as "God beams" or crepuscular rays, are caused by the late-afternoon sun shining into a light rain storm. The peaks cast their shadows onto the mist, making the sunlight through the gaps stand out.
