McWay Falls, located in the Big Sur region of the California coast, is one of the few waterfalls that empties directly into the Pacific Ocean. Waterfalls that empty onto the beach or into the ocean are known as tidefalls. The 80-foot-tall McWay Falls is one of only two perennial tidefalls in California.
