Gull in Horseshoe Falls Mist
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

What we think of as Niagara Falls is actually three distinct waterfalls, each incredibly powerful. Water hits the base of Horseshoe Falls with more than 2,500 tons of force. It pushes mist down the gorge to the delight of tourists, but birds seem to enjoy that too. This herring gull was among those darting in and out of the mist at sunrise.
