Deep Shadow on Painted Hills, Oregon

Shadow on the Painted Hills, Oregon
Low-angle sunlight shows the texture of the colorful Painted Hills in the John Day National Monument in Oregon. The layers represent different ash and pumice deposits from the Cascades and area volcanoes. The deposits were laid down approximately 33 million years ago. The red comes from rusty iron minerals; golden layers are rich with oxidized magnesium and iron, metamorphic claystone; the black comes from manganese.

Kevin Ebi personally prepares each image for printing on bright, cotton-based fine-art paper. Inquire for metal or canvas-based prints.

Open edition prints are available at sizes up to 24 x 36 inches. To avoid cropping, images are typically printed with a small white border. Prints are signed and titled in the bottom border.

Some images are also available as Master prints. These prints measure 40 x 60 inches. Only one print will be made larger than 24 x 36 inches so these prints are one-of-a-kind. Inquire for availability.
